Dear Brandon,
Today, you began your school career. Today, as you walked inside the school with your Kindergarten class a transformation took place inside of me. I felt my role as your mother shift a little. I am no longer the one whom you will share your entire day with. I no longer am the one person you will go to for help or who will make sure your needs are met. Today, new leaders entered your life that will help pave your future. Today, I had to let go! However, today I was not overwhelmingly sad. I saw the excitement in your face as we stepped closer and closer towards this new chapter. I felt your energy and desperation for newness and growth. You were ready which helped me feel at ease. My struggle comes with feeling confident that I provided you with the tools you will need to get you through all that you may encounter. All I can do now is take a deep breath and believe!
