Dear Charlie,
Today, I look into your deep eyes and see a clean canvas. As you age, your canvas of life will start to show color, highlights, shadows, creases and lines. Some will be bright and amazing while others will feel dark and painful. Please know that I am here through each moment of happiness and joy. And, when life brings you pain I will want so badly to take that all away for you. But, I am learning that pain is a part of this thing called life. It does not have to be feared… oddly, it can teach you something absolutely amazing if embraced and worked through. So, just know that as I watch your canvas turn into a beautiful piece of art that you will be held, supported and loved.
